Denmark Street, London

Project Background

Mantra Services has recently undertaken a utility survey for development works in London’s Denmark Street. Colloquially known as tin pan alley, this is a famous street in the city where The Sex Pistols used to reside and Bob Dylan still shops!  Although the history of the site is a fascinating one, we were there to locate the buried services network with a utility survey for future developments.

Project Challenges and Our Response.

An inner-City location is always a challenge with heavy traffic and high levels of pedestrians. This specific location also has the added challenge of being a high-profile tourist location.

We provided a PAS128 survey to level M4P with post processing used for the Ground Penetrating Radar. For all of the carriageway areas of the site we employed an IDS Stream vehicle mounted GPR system for faster data collection and to ensure the safety of our crews and the general public. This in turn offers significant savings to the client with the reduction in time on site, highways notices and traffic management costs.
